This is very distressing news as Africa has lost yet another of its bright stars, Ghana born Hiplife musician, Castro De Destroyer, who drowned alongside his lady friend, Janet Bandu, after a skiing accident.
Described as the 50 Cent of Ghanaian music, Castro, born Theophilus Tagoe, was a what the likes of MI, Ice Prince and Phyno are in a Nigerian rap scene and went out his music career with his debut album in 2003 and just won the Highlife Song of the Year 2014 at the VGMAs award winner held earlier this twelvemonth.
A really close ally of the Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan, with whom he recorded three albums, according to reports in the West African country, on the 6th of July, 2014, Castro died while on a holiday at Ada, a suburban area of the country where he had worked in the company Asamoah Gyan.
Castro drowned in an endeavor to rescue his girl who had come off a jet ski. In an effort to rescue her, Castro and the girl drowned together, their bodies have not been set up so far.
May their souls reside in complete repose.
